Lets get crafty: Pompom garland

Hello everyone, I’ve got a really simple, fun, adorable pompom garland DIY for you. For this craft you only need two items which you probably already have in your home right now!!! So lets get right into it.

You’ll need:

1. Wool

2. Scissors

To make the pompoms you want to grab your wool and wrap it around your fingers quite a few times until theres quite a lot of wool covering your hand. Then pull the wool off your hand, you should have a loop of wool like me, pinch that in the middle and with a seperate piece of wool tie it in the middle. Once you wool loop has a secure knot in the middle cut both ends and seperate all of the little pieces of your pompom. It’s that simple! Continue you this until you have your desired length.

Once you’ve made all of your pompoms take a long piece of string and tie a big knot at one end. Now start threading the string through the middle of your pompom where you tied the seperate piece of string. You want to continue to do this until you run out of wool or pompoms. Leave a small gap of string from your last pompom so you can tie another big knot to secure them all together.

There you have it guys it’s that quick and easy to make a eye catching, quirky, beautiful, boho pompom garland using only two things. I hope you liked this crafty post and that you had a great weekend!

Speak to you on Thursday xo

Hello everybody! I hope you’ve had a great start to your week, I thought I’d try something new today. I’ve seen a few of videos of anti-hauls floating around YouTube and then I saw Simply Stella write a great anti-haul post which inspired me to do the same. If you have no idea what I’m talking about I’ll give you a quick run down of what an anti-haul is; it’s a haul of things that you wouldn’t buy or re-purchase because you don’t think it’s worth the hype! Of course this isn’t shading any of these items, it’s all about personal preference so if you own anything from this list please don’t get offended!

First up is the Las Rose à poudrer iridescent powder highlighter from Lancome. This retails for £35 which to me is far too much for a highlighter even if it is in the most beautiful rose shape ever and gave me an out of this world glow. To me this looks as though it would be pretty awkward to use, I can’t see that you’re getting much product for your money and from the various swatches I’ve seen it isn’t anything to rave about. To me you’re paying for the aesthetic of this product rather than the actual quality. Find it here.

The second item may cause controversy, it’s the MAC prep + prime fix + spray which is adored by many beauty bloggers all over the world. This is £18 and is apparently a ‘water mist packed with vitamins and minerals infused with a green tea, chamomile and cucumber blend.’ To me this is a pricey water spray which you could easily DIY, for me there are other options out there that are nowhere near as expensive. Maybe one day I’ll fork out enough to give it a go but for now it’s a no. Check it out here.

Next up is another product that people may hate me for putting in here, it’s Kylie Jenner’s LipKits but more specifically her new highlighters. I’ve never tried a Kylie lip kit so I can’t comment on the quality or the brand but I haven’t heard good things which always make me more cautious. However from what I can see from the swatches and packaging of these highlights again you’re not buying it for the actual product but for the brand. Personally I don’t see the appeal to buying it something because someone famous made it even if the quality isn’t fabulous, this looks like a bit of a flop to me.

I’ve mentioned a liquid lipstick in my January favourites from this brand because I loved it however this highlighter I’m not sold on. It’s Jeffree Star’s Skin Frost highlighter in shade Regina George. To me having a bright, glittery pink for highlight isn’t appealing or practical. They retail for £25.50 and this kinda of shade is something you’d use on very rare occasions, again you’re buying it for the brand name instead of the actual product. I’d like to try a highlighter from his brand because I was very surprised by the quality of the lip products I own; I just won’t try this shade! Find it here.

Lastly for this anti-haul is a new-ish item for Benefit. It’s another item I wouldn’t buy because for me it looks pretty impractical. It’s the They’re Real Double The Lip And Liner In One which looks like it’s a liner and lipstick pen. I think the tip of the product is the liner which you line your lips with and the base of the product is lipstick which you’d use to fill your lips in. I’m  very ditsy, pretty heavy-handed and stupidly clumsy so I could see myself really failing with this product. I love the idea as it’s super practical for people who’re travelling but I just don’t think I’ve got the skills for it. It is £16.50 which I think is a pretty reasonable price so there may come a day where I dare to test this out but for now I’ll stay away. Check it out here.

I hope you guys enjoyed this post, I love reading these and watching videos about them as everyone does them in different ways. If you’ve written an anti-haul I’d love to read it so please leave a link down below!

My evening routine

Hey guys! If you were reading last month around this time I posted  my morning routine where I chatted about what a typical morning for me consists of. So I thought I’d write about what I do during the evening.

pyjamas & socks – Primark

Firstly I can never get cosy without talking off my clothes and putting on some cozy pyjamas, fluffy socks and grab a hair band to push my hair out of my face. Now that I’m a lot more comfy I decided I wanted a relaxing bubble bath. The Karma bubble bar from Lush smells earthy, herbal with hints of orange which make for a very soothing, calming bath. I used the whole bubble bar which filled my bathroom with the gorgeous scent, created lots of soft bubbles and turned the water a mesmerizing deep purple blue colour which reminded me of the night sky. This left my skin moisturised and super smooth. I love it! Find it here.

At the moment I’m using the Jack Wills English Velvet body wash which lathers well, is a nice smell and does the job. I also used the Soap&Glory Scrub of your life which if you’ve been following me for any amount of time you know I’m obsessed with this. It’s hair wash day so I’m using the Aussie miracle nourish shampoo & conditioner which makes my hair smell lovely and I feel as though it is making my hair stronger. My hair is a bit dry at the moment so I’m also using this hair moistruiser mask from The Body Shop. I then wrap my hair using this Soap&Glory hair towel thing that I’ve had for years. Find ‘the scrub of your life’ here and if you want to check out the Aussie range click here. You can also find the hair mask from The Body Shop here.

The second I get out of the bath I use the Dove invisble deodorant. I also spray some VO5 heat protecting serum into my hair before I blow dry it as this will protect it from any damage, leaves my hair smooth, shiny and keeps it smelling gorgeous for days. I then pop on Bio oil, which is another staple product I rave about all the time, where I need it which is mostly my legs and arms. Then I moistruise anywhere else using the Jack Wills English Velvet body butter which I really like. Find the Dove spray here which is on offer right now and the VO5 spray is also on offer.  Click here if you want to find out more about Bio Oil.

Last thing I do in the bathroom is wash all of my make up off with the Boots own tea tree&witch hazel foam facial wash as it’s really quick and easy to use. Then I tone my face with the tea tree&witch hazel toner to get any remaining product off my face. Check out the facial wash here and you can find the toner here.  Find the moisture surge range from Clinique here.

After I’ve done all of that I like to head back into my room, moisturise my face with the Clinque moisture surge overnight cream, put my eye cream on and put castor oil on my brows. Once I’ve finished my mini daily pamper routine I like to clean up any mess or clutter I’ve made in my room during the day. I prefer doing this daily because it means there’s less to do when you have to tidy your room, this literally takes me five minutes as I like to make my bed in the morning.

Now that everything’s back in its place, I go get a drink and a snack, grab my iPad, hop into bed and catch up on all of my favourite YouTubers latest videos. I normally have half an hour to an hour to myself relaxing watching videos.

I like doing something productive for an hour or so before I go to bed. I either sit down to pre-write a blog post or make some crafts as I hope to start an Etsy store in the summer, it’s always dependent on what needs to get done. I’m trying to get back into painting and drawing, specifically portraits as I’ve always loved drawing people. I find Pinterest is super useful as there are so many cool models to draw on there. This isn’t my best painting, I did mess up the highlight but there is always room for improvement.

Finally when I’ve finished the things I wanted to get done I tidy my desk up a bit, turn my main lights off, my lamp on and read or scroll through pinterest for 20 minuets before I turn off the lamp, put a book on using audible and go to sleep!

Thank you so much for reading my usual evening routine I hope you found this somewhat interesting, that you’re having a great week so far and I’ll catch up with you again on Saturday!
